BOOSTERTHON Fundraiser a Huge Success!
We are happy to report that the BOOSTERTHON was a huge success! The kids had a great time participating in the activities leading up to Boosterthon and even more fun running in the event. We raised over $19,000 on this fundraiser! We will be using the majority of this money to purchase 30 Chrome Book laptops for the school. Thank you to everyone who supported this fundraiser and helped their children collect pledges. We greatly appreciate it! Looking ahead, our next fundraiser is the Holiday Fair, which will take place on Dec 6th from 9-4. This event features vendors, crafts, face painting, a bake sale, a Silent Auction, a Teacher Auction, and Santa will make an appearance! This year we will also be raffling a live tree. This is always a fun day for parents and kids, so please mark your calendars for this fun event! If you know anyone that would like to be a vendor or donate an item for the Silent Auction, please contact email@example.com. Thank you again to everyone that supports our fundraising efforts here at Waugh Chapel. We truly could not do this without everyone’s support. If you have any questions regarding our fundraising efforts or would like to join our wonderful committee, please contact Tammy Counts at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Gift Cards are Back!
Are you planning to purchase gift cards as holiday presents? Do you ever purchase gift cards that you use for household purchases such as groceries, clothing, gasoline and entertainment? If so, then please consider participating in the Waugh Chapel Scrip program which is sponsored by the PTA. For those of you that are new to the school, the scrip program is a fundraiser that works while you shop. When gift cards are purchased through this program, a small percentage goes to our PTA. For example: Buy $25 Starbuck’s Gift Card and You get a $25 Starbuck’s Gift Card and the Scrip program pays the PTA a % for selling the gift card. Attached you will find an order form for many of the cards that are available. A full list of all available retailers can be seen at www.glscrip.com. If you would like to order any cards not listed on the attached form but that are on the computer list, just add them somewhere on the order form. Payment is due with orders, and checks should be made out to WCES PTA. Please send all orders back in a sealed envelope addressed to PTA/Scrip Program. Make sure to include your phone number and email address on your order form if we need to contact you. We will have two gift card sales this season.

It’s a Western BBQ for our Outstanding Waugh Chapel Staff!
The hospitality committee is planning a special luncheon on Monday, November 24, 2014 to honor our school’s hardworking, dedicated teachers and the outstanding support staff. We need your help!
This year our fall luncheon will have a Western BBQ style theme. We are looking for volunteers to bring food to be served at the luncheon. We are also seeking cash donations to be put towards supplies for the lunch. We will be serving approximately 65 facility and staff members.
Your child will bring home a flyer with more information on this soon. We plan to make this a fabulous luncheon for our teachers and staff, and any support you can give will be appreciated!
If you have any questions or suggestion, please feel free to contact Bonnie Zsakany at email@example.com.
The Ice Cream Social Was a Big Hit!
On September 26th our PTA held an Ice Cream Social for WCES students and parents.
We would like to thank Ms. Hill, Ms. Doherty, Ms. Sabia, Ms. Maine and Ms. Chambers who came out to help scoop ice cream. A HUGE “Thank You” goes out to all of our committee members who helped out during the social: Jen and Scott Gruber, Cheryl Brown, Kara Rymon, Kerri Dunham, Tracy O’Kane, Richard Zsakany, Mo Ochs, Dawn Felski, and Marcie Wilson.
It was a super successful event with over 400 ice cream sundaes served. We would like to thank our DJ Michael Valanti for doing a fantastic job entertaining the students. Also, thanks to Friendly’s of Crofton for supplying the ice cream and employees to serve such a large number of students and parents.
